Which fake profiles can be removed
The profile carries your name or your photo and more people see it every day. Before filing a claim you need to know which platform it is on and which rule it breaks, because each one asks for something different.
A fake profile is rarely alone. It gets copied onto other networks, writes to your contacts and ends up appearing when someone searches your name on Google.
Cloned profile, with your photo
Removed ✓How a fake profile is removed
From an account you did not create to none left. This is how we work each case, whether you already have the profile link or have only been told that it exists.
We find all the profiles
We search for your name and your photos across social networks, messaging apps, dating sites and search engines, and we keep evidence of each profile before filing a claim.
We choose the route that works
Each platform has its own impersonation report form and its own rules. We claim on grounds of impersonation, right to one's own image or data protection, depending on what fits each one best.
It is removed and disappears from Google
The profile is closed and, if it was indexed, the link stops appearing when your name is searched. We let you know profile by profile.
We watch for reappearances
Whoever creates a fake profile usually opens another. Monitoring detects the new ones and claims them without you having to look for them. This is a service contracted separately: it is not included in the removal.
Location
We find every copy of the profile
There is almost never just one: the same profile is replicated on other networks with your photo and another name. If one is closed and not the rest, the problem remains.
- Search by your name, your photo and the username
- Social networks, messaging apps and dating sites
- Profiles, pages and results on Google
- The profile link is enough to get started
Claim
We choose the route that works
To ask for closure we use the route that fits each profile, and almost always more than one can be combined:
- The network's own impersonation report form
- Right to one's own image (Spanish Organic Law 1/1982)
- Data protection: your name and your photo are personal data
- A claim to whoever hosts the website when the platform does not respond
Removal
It is removed and disappears from Google
Closing the profile and getting it off Google are two separate procedures. We do both, and we let you know link by link when each one is resolved.
- Follow-up of the file until the platform responds
- Request for the link and the profile to stop appearing on Google
- We are a trusted partner of Google for content removals
- If we can't remove it, we keep your credit for you
Continuous monitoring
We watch for reappearances
Monitoring is a separate service and is contracted separately: it is not included in the one-off removal.
It is common that, after a fake profile is closed, another one appears with the same photo. If you prefer us to keep checking for you, this is what it includes:
- Regular scanning of social networks, websites and search engines
- Claims for new profiles without you having to tell us
- Handling of the accounts that repeat your identity
- Report on what has been detected and removed
From the alert to the removal, step by step
Remove it now ➜These are the steps we follow when a case reaches us. If you would rather try it yourself, in the guide how to report impersonation on social networks we explain how it is done.
You send us the profile link

You don't need to bring the work done. With the profile link, a screenshot or the username we can get started.
- The profile link or a screenshot
- The social network or website where it is
- Which of your details it uses: name, photos, company
We measure how far it has spread

There is almost never just one profile. We track the duplicate accounts and the copies of your photos before filing a claim, so we can close them at the same time and not leave the same thing open on other networks.
- Search by your name, your photo and the username
- Social networks, messaging apps and dating sites
- Pages and groups that use your identity
- Google results for your name
We file the claim

Each platform asks for something different. We choose the route that works on each one and follow up until they close the profile.
- The platform's impersonation report form
- Right to one's own image and data protection
- Removal of the profile link on Google
We confirm and keep watching

We let you know when each profile is closed. From then on, if you want us to keep watching, monitoring is contracted separately.
- Alert profile by profile when it is closed
- If we can't remove it, we keep your credit for you
- Monitoring of reappearances: separate service, not included

Would you rather not go through any of these steps? We take care of the whole process, from finding the copies to asking for the profile to be removed from Google.

Where does a fake profile operate?
Almost nobody finds it by looking for it. A friend, a client or a stranger tells you. And by the time that alert arrives, the profile has already written to a lot of people.
Sometimes it starts on one social network and jumps to others. Other times it starts as a messaging account and ends up in a group. The route changes, but it almost always goes through these five places.
Social networks
This is where most are created: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X or LinkedIn. Your name and photos are copied and friend requests are sent to your contacts to build credibility.
- Cloned profiles of your own networks
- Accounts that pretend to be your company or your brand
- Pages and groups that use your identity
Messaging apps and groups
Here the profile writes to your contacts privately, asks for money or data and does not usually show up in search engines. This is where most scams are carried out in your name.
Dating sites and marketplaces
Fake profiles with your photos on dating sites, classified ad sites or second-hand marketplaces, where nobody can check that it is you.
Google and other search engines
When the profile is indexed, it appears when your name is searched. Closing the profile and getting it off Google are two separate procedures, and both count.
Forums and review sites
Profiles and comments that pretend to be you on forums or review sites. It is the same problem with another face, and it has to be claimed separately.
How long does a fake profile take to close?
It depends on the platform and on how many profiles there are. Each network has its own impersonation channel and its own timescales, and the final decision is theirs, not ours. That is why we do not promise timescales.

Analysis and claim
As soon as we have the profile link, we find the copies and send the first claims. We don't wait for the complete map before starting.

Closure on the platform
The big networks have an impersonation channel and respond through it. Websites with no visible contact take longer: there you have to claim to whoever hosts the website.

Removal from Google
Closing the profile and getting it off Google are two separate procedures. We handle both, so that the link stops appearing when your name is searched.

What legal basis is used to remove a fake profile
You don't need to file a police report to ask for closure, and almost always more than one route is used at the same time:
We prepare the file with the route that works on each platform and we also process it with Google, so that the link stops appearing when your name is searched.

Why act as soon as possible?
A fake profile does not stand still. The longer it stays open, the more contacts it writes to and the more people believe it is you.

Your contacts don't know which one is you.

The software we use to find and remove every fake profile
The same platform we use to find everything that has been published about you and to keep control of the removals, link by link.
See the platform ➜It tracks by your name, by the headline and by the copied text across media, social networks, forums and search engines. This is what makes it possible to claim all the posts at once and not just the one you have seen.
Every link has its legal basis, date and status. You can see at all times what has been removed, what is pending and what has reappeared.

Figures that speak for themselves
What we have removed from the internet for individuals and companies.

What already exists, what is created tomorrow and what comes back
Whoever creates a fake profile is rarely content with one. That is why the work does not end with the first one that is closed.
We find and close what exists right now, including what was created months ago and what is on networks you don't even use.
While the claims are being processed we keep tracking. If a new profile appears during the process, it goes into the same case.
It is common that, after a profile is closed, another one opens with the same photo and another name. Monitoring checks for it regularly and claims it.Contracted separately: not included in the removal.

Frequently asked questions about fake profiles
Facebook has a form for reporting profiles that pretend to be you: you need the profile link and, sometimes, a document proving your identity. If it does not respond or rejects the report, the route is to claim on grounds of impersonation, right to one’s own image and data protection. This is the point at which the case usually reaches us, and we handle it.
Instagram lets you report accounts that pretend to be you from the profile itself or with an impersonation form. It is wise to keep screenshots and the username before reporting, because the profile may change its name or be deleted. If the report does not succeed, we claim with a legal basis and follow the case until they respond.
It is reported from the profile as impersonation. A single report is rarely enough if the profile is active and has followers; it helps if your contacts report it too and if the claim includes evidence that the photo and the name are yours. If the platform does not act, we take care of the claim.
It is common: networks receive millions of reports and many are closed with an automatic reply. You can claim again by another route, citing the specific rule the profile breaks, the right to one’s own image or data protection, and going if necessary to whoever hosts the website. This is what we do, with follow-up until they respond.
It can be, depending on the case: usurpation of civil status (Spanish Criminal Code, article 401), insults or fraud, if the profile is used to deceive. In addition, using your photo without permission breaches your right to one’s own image. It does not need to be a crime to ask the platform to close it.
Platforms do not reveal who holds an account. Only a judge can ask them for that data, and that falls under the judicial route, which is a separate decision. To close the profile you don’t need to know who created it: the claim is made on the content.
No. The claim to the platform is a separate route and does not depend on a police report. You can do both at the same time, and the documentation we prepare is useful if you decide to file a report later.
The profile link or a screenshot of where you saw it. If you know which network it is on and since when, better, but it is not essential: with your name and your photos we can find the rest. You don’t need to prepare anything else.
The platform and, if there is disagreement, a judge or the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD). We prepare the claim with the appropriate legal basis and follow it up, but the final decision is not ours. If we can’t remove it, we keep your credit for you.
It depends on the platform and on how many profiles there are. Each network has its own channel and its own timescales, and the decision does not depend on us, so we do not promise timescales. We let you know profile by profile as they are closed.
We handle the claim and your case is treated with absolute discretion. But in an impersonation report the platform needs to know who it refers to, so we cannot say it is anonymous. Whoever created the profile receives no notice from us.
No. A fake profile is a new account that uses your name and your photos. A hacked account is your own, to which you have lost access. They are different procedures: the second is resolved by recovering the account with the platform, and this service is for the first.
You can claim in that case too. Your image is personal data and you have the right to one’s own image even if the profile does not carry your name. We track your photos to find the duplicate accounts and claim them at the same time.
Yes. Accounts that pretend to be a company, a business or a brand, whether to deceive clients or to sell in its name, are covered by the service just like those of individuals. If what they copy is the website, we have the fake website removal service.
It is common that, after one is closed, another opens with the same photo and another name. While the case is open, whatever appears goes into the same engagement. If you want us to keep watching afterwards, continuous monitoring is contracted separately.
Each service is contracted separately and without a subscription, except continuous monitoring. You can see the price in the shop and, if you would rather we assess your case first, write to us and we will tell you what can be done and how much it would cost before you pay anything. If we can’t remove it, we keep your credit for you.
