What we remove when someone makes a deepfake of you
The video is circulating with your face and name, and every hour that passes it gets copied to another site. You don't have to prove to anyone that it's fake. It needs to be removed.
A deepfake doesn't stop at one video. It jumps to screenshots, thumbnails, accounts that re-edit it, and search results when someone looks up your name.
Fake video with your face, forwarded
Removed ✓How we remove a deepfake
From a link you wish you'd never seen to nothing left. This is how we work each case, whether you already know where the video is or only know that it exists.
We find every copy
We track the video frame by frame, by audio, and by your name across social media, video sites, forums, messaging platforms, and search engines.
We file legally grounded claims
Each platform responds to a different argument: the right to your own image, data protection, or its own rules on impersonation. We use whichever works for each one.
It's removed and delisted from Google
The video disappears from the web and, if it was indexed, the link and thumbnail are removed from Google too. We notify you copy by copy.
We monitor for reappearances
A removed video often comes back weeks later. Monitoring detects new copies and files claims without you having to search for them. This is a separate service: it is not included in the removal.
Detection
We find every copy
There's almost never just one copy: sites replicate each other and accounts re-edit the video. If it's taken down in one place but not the rest, it comes back within days. That's why the first step is knowing how many copies there are.
- Reverse search by frame and by audio
- Social media, video sites, forums, and aggregators
- Telegram channels, Discord servers, and accounts that re-edit it
- A link, a screenshot, or the account that posted it is enough to get started
Claim
We file legally grounded claims
You don't have to prove the video is fake. Any one of these routes is enough to request a takedown, and you can usually use more than one at the same time.
- Right to your own image (Ley Orgánica 1/1982, Spain)
- Data protection: your face and voice are personal data
- The platform’s own rules on impersonation and synthetic media
- When there’s no contact available, the claim goes to the hosting provider
Takedown
It's removed and delisted from Google
Removing the video from the web and delisting it from search engines are two separate actions. We handle both, and we notify you link by link as each copy comes down.
- We track the case until the platform responds
- Removal of the link and thumbnail from Google Images
- We are trusted partners of Google for content removals
- If something can’t be removed, the amount stays as credit
Ongoing monitoring
We monitor for reappearances
Monitoring is an independent service and must be contracted separately: it is not included in a one-off removal.
It’s common for a video to start circulating again weeks later, re-edited or with a different title. If you’d rather we keep checking for you, here’s what this covers:
- Regular scans of social media, video sites, and search engines
- Claims filed for new copies without you having to notify us
- Management of profiles impersonating you
- Report of what has been detected and removed
How we remove a deepfake, step by step
Remove now ➜These are the steps we follow when a case comes in. If you’d rather try it yourself, our guide on how to report a deepfake explains how to do it on your own.
You send us what you have

You don’t need to have done the legwork. A link to the video, a screenshot, or the account that posted it is enough for us to get started.
- The video link or a screenshot of where you saw it
- The account or channel that posted it
- Whether your real name or city appears alongside the video
We measure the real reach

There’s almost never just one copy. We track down the replicas before filing any claims, so we can remove them all at once and not leave the same video lingering on ten other accounts.
- Reverse search by frame and by audio
- Social media, forums, and video sites
- Telegram channels, Discord servers, and accounts that re-edit it
- Results and thumbnails in search engines
We submit the takedown requests

Each platform responds to a different argument. We choose the one that works for each and follow up until the video is taken down.
- Right to your own image and data protection
- Platform rules on synthetic media and impersonation
- Removal of the link and thumbnail from Google
We confirm and keep watching

We notify you when each copy disappears. After that, if you want us to keep watching, monitoring is contracted separately.
- Link-by-link notification when each is removed
- If something doesn’t come down, your balance stays as credit for another removal
- Reappearance monitoring: separate service, not included

Would you rather skip all these steps? We handle the entire process, from finding the copies to requesting the link removal from Google.

Where does a deepfake end up when someone publishes it?
Almost no one finds the video by searching for it. Someone sends it to them. And by the time that message arrives, the video is already in more than one place.
Sometimes it starts in a private group and jumps from there to open social media. Other times it appears directly on a site that makes its business out of republishing this material. These are the places where we find it.
Video sites and adult content portals
This is the most common destination for sexual deepfakes. They post the video with your name in the title to capture searches, and sites copy from one another: if you only remove it from one, the file stays alive on the others.
- Video portals that accept uploads without verifying who appears
- Aggregators that automatically replicate what others publish
- Sites that charge a subscription to access the material
Telegram channels and Discord servers
Here the video circulates privately and spreads very quickly. It usually doesn’t appear in search results, but it’s where it spreads the most and where almost all the copies that later appear publicly come from.
Profiles impersonating you
Instagram, X, TikTok, or Reddit accounts that use the video and your name to gain followers, sell something, or scam people who know you by posing as you.
Google and other search engines
When one of those sites gets indexed, the video appears when someone searches your name and its thumbnail shows up in Google Images. Removing the video from the web and delisting it from search engines are two separate actions: we handle both.
Accounts that re-edit and repost it
Clips, videos with different text overlaid, versions with the watermark covered. It’s the same material with a different face, and every copy must be claimed individually.
How long does it take for a deepfake to disappear?
It depends on how many copies there are and where they are. Each platform has its own takedown channel and its own timescales, and the final decision is theirs, so we won’t give you a number that isn’t ours to guarantee. What we can tell you is what happens at each stage.

Analysis and claim
As soon as we have the link or the account that posted it, we locate the copies and send the first claims. We don’t wait for a complete map before getting started.

Removal from the sites
Major platforms have a channel for this and respond through it. Sites with no visible contact take longer: in those cases we have to claim from the hosting provider or domain registrar.

Delisting from search engines
Removing the video from the web and delisting it from Google are two separate actions. We handle both, so the link stops appearing when someone searches your name and the thumbnail disappears from Google Images.
The legal basis for removing a deepfake
You don’t have to prove the video is fake or justify anything. Any one of these routes is enough to request a takedown, and they are often used together.
We prepare the file using whichever route works for each platform, and we also handle the request with Google, so the link and thumbnail stop appearing when someone searches your name.

Why act as soon as possible?
A deepfake doesn’t stand still. The longer it’s published, the more copies there are and the more people take it as real.

The same platform we use to find every copy of the video and track removals, link by link.
View the platform ➜Searches by frame, by audio, and by your name across social networks, video sites, forums, and search engines. This is what makes it possible to claim every copy at once, not just the one you found.
Every link has its legal basis, date, and status. You can see at any time what has been removed, what is pending, and what has reappeared.

Numbers that speak for themselves
What we have removed from the internet for individuals and businesses.

What is already out there, what comes out tomorrow, and what comes back
A deepfake rarely stands still. That’s why the work doesn’t end with the first link removed.
We find and remove the copies circulating right now, including ones that were uploaded months ago and ones on accounts you’re not even aware of.
While the takedowns are being processed, we keep scanning. If a new copy appears during the process, it enters the same case.
It’s common for a removed video to be re-uploaded weeks later. Monitoring checks for this periodically and files claims on reappearances without you having to keep watch. Purchased separately: not included in the removal service.

My picture was used in a miracle-pill scam. I got in touch with RepScan and, at last, someone took it seriously and sorted it out.

My name was tied to an investment scam with quotes I never said. I contacted RepScan and in just two days they removed everything.

I hired them over a personal matter and RepScan acted straight away, with a fast and effective solution.
Frequently asked questions about deepfakes and AI-generated fake videos
A fake AI-generated video, also known as a deepfake, is a video that has been manipulated or created with artificial intelligence using your face or voice without your consent, to make it look as though you said or did something that never happened.
We remove deepfakes from Google, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and any website or platform where they are being shared, including messaging channels and video sites that have no visible contact address.
All you need to do is give us the link to the video and confirm that you appear in it without your consent. If you don’t have the link, a screenshot or the name of the account that posted it is enough. We take care of the rest.
The takedown depends on the platform where the video is published. The claim is filed on grounds of identity fraud and unauthorized use of your image, following the platform’s own internal rules and the applicable law.
Each platform has its own timelines. Some removals are resolved within a few days; others require more reviews. We follow up until we get a response, and we notify you every time a copy comes down.
Yes. The process is carried out privately, and whoever posted the video is not told who requested the takedown.
Yes. If the same video is published in several places, or there are several different deepfakes, we process the removal of each one.
It is common for a removed deepfake to be re-uploaded weeks later, sometimes re-edited or with a different title. A new claim can be filed, and if you prefer not to keep checking, continuous monitoring reviews this periodically. It is purchased separately.
This service focuses on videos. For images generated with your face, there is the photo removal service, and for accounts impersonating you, the fake profile service. If the audio is embedded inside the video, it is covered by this service.
Yes. You don’t need to have an account on the platform where the fake video appears.
It depends on what the video does. Using your image without permission infringes the right to one’s own image protected under Ley Orgánica 1/1982 (Spain), and processing your face or voice without a legal basis violates the GDPR. If the content is sexual and is distributed without your consent, Article 197.7 of the Spanish Criminal Code classifies it as a criminal offence. No criminal offence is required to request removal: any one of these grounds is sufficient. The guide on how to report a deepfake explains this in more detail.
First, preserve the evidence: screenshot the post with the date and the account name visible, and copy the link. Do not report it from your own account before doing this, because if the platform removes it, you lose the proof. Then check whether the video has appeared elsewhere: there is almost never just one copy.
Yes, and it is the most common case. In addition to the usual grounds, distributing sexual content without consent is classified under Article 197.7 of the Spanish Criminal Code, and major platforms have a priority channel for this type of material. It is handled with the same discretion as any other case.
It can still be claimed. Telegram has a procedure for removing material published without consent and for closing channels dedicated to spreading it. It is where content spreads fastest and where almost all the copies that later appear in public come from, so it’s worth filing a claim as soon as possible.
It is a one-time payment with no subscription. The current price is in the store, and if your case involves many copies, we will give you a quote before you pay anything. If removal cannot be achieved, the amount is held as credit for another removal.
They are two separate and compatible paths. A police report pursues whoever created the video; removal gets it taken down from where it is, which is usually the urgent priority. You can do both at the same time, and the case documentation is useful for the report. How and where to file is explained in the guide on how to report a deepfake in Spain.
